There is a previous post here by Cheryl on buying some new flip flops for travel. Both of us ordered a couple of pairs that looked good on the web, but… even though I ordered a brand I’ve had good luck with, I found that they make two widths of footbed, one that fits me, one that doesn’t. So despite some pretty good research we both ended up wasting some money on sandals we wouldn’t wear.
When I was looking for sandals to take to Burma in 2009 I found OluKai flip flops at a local store. In trying them on they struck me as the most comfortable sandals I’d ever worn. They have excellent arch support and are well-cushioned. I bought two pairs, one of the
Ohana style and one of the leather-covered
Kumu. I wore the Ohanas all over Burma, and took them along to India in 2010. I wear the Kumos here at home when I need a flip flop that is slightly dressier.
I recently convinced Cheryl that she needed some of these fabulous flip flops as well, and we both ordered a pair of the Ohana for our upcoming return to Burma. After looking all over the web, we chose to order from The Walking Company, as we could return them locally if they weren’t exactly what we wanted.
The Ohana come in a nice variety of colors. I ordered Electric Blue and Cheryl ordered Dark Java. They came in a week and they feel great!
